WANDS

Though they come in a wide variety of forms, all Wands are used primarily for directing power and intent. That is, they are used to direct your intentions and power that you have raised for healing and causing changes in the world through magick.

Witches, Druids, Shamans and Sorcerers all around the world have used Wands in these ways for millennia, and they are one of the most commonly found artifacts in the graves of stone age Shamans throughout the world. These also are usually adorned with Shamanic and Totemic motifs of all kinds, and generally have feathers, stones and  similar fetish items attached to them. They are also sometimes used as ‘Talking Sticks’- for use in council circles, discussions and meetings in which each person holds the Stick or Wand, and only they are entitled to speak. Everyone else respects this, and so every person can speak confidently without fear of interruption. 

CARVED POWER WANDS

I make Wands to suit all paths, and usually carve the Serpent of Wisdom along their length, as this Totem power is known and respected in all traditions world wide. The Serpent features in the symbol of Doctors, and in the Caduceus of the Greek God Mercury whom ruled over all matters concerned with communication, and these are of course excellent qualities to stress in a Wand. 

Each Power Wand has either a clear quartz crystal, or an amethyst point set at the tip to direct power, and has feathers bound to the shaft just behind it, so as to draw in totemic bird power- birds are regarded as message carriers and bringers in all traditions world wide. Thong and bead drops complete each Wand.

I save specific feathers, such as Kestrel and Owl to use on Wands, but cannot promise which I will have for you- let Power work its own magick, and gift you how it feels best! Other than that I use the feathers of Crow- the archetypal carrier of power and wisdom.

Specify either Quartz crystal or Amethyst tip.

CRYSTAL WANDS

These are similar to Wands as described above, but of simpler design, and are often put to much simpler use. They are used as a focus for directing prayers, in the sense that American Indians use that term. Crystal Wands can also be used in ceremonial circles as ‘Talking Sticks’. In which each person holds the stick in turn, and all others respect their right to speak without interruption. To facilitate this, and to enhance the primary use of these Wands, I work a ‘Holding Place’ into each, so that when you hold it you truly have a firm grip on what you are doing.

A Quartz crystal is set at the tip, and fetish items such as stones, fossils and shells are attached to a Crystal Wand to help you connect with the power of the land and its spirits.

Many people use a Crystal Wand when they sit on their own in the countryside to call in the Spirits, when they are seeking spiritual direction and guidance. 

The overall length of a Crystal Wand is 16 inches.

WICCAN WANDS

These are similar to Power Wands as described above, but are specifically designed for Witches. 

So though they still have the Serpent of Power and Wisdom carved along their length, they also have specifically Wiccan symbols carved into them- The traditional signs for the Goddess and God of the craft, the Initiate symbols, the signs of the seasons, the triple moon symbol and similar empowering symbols.

A Quartz crystal is set at the tip, and each Wand is carved in Hazel wood ritually gathered- Hazel is traditionally the wood to use for Witches Wands as it accords with the Celtic correspondence of Wisdom and Power, but I don’t include beads or feathers unless you request those so as to keep these Wands more powerfully Wiccan.

Many Witches use a Wiccan Wand instead of an Athame as their primary magickal tool for casting the circle, calling in the power of the four quarters, charging spells and Talismans and similar magickal uses. Each Wand I make is ritually made, cleansed and ‘charged’ ready for your magickal use.

The overall length of a Wiccan Wand is approx’ 18 inches., but tradition has it that it should be the length of your forearm from elbow to tip of middle finger, so you are more than welcome to specify this length (between 16-19 inches) when you order your Wand.

THE SCOURGE

“Mine the Scourge and mine the kiss, 
the fivefold star of love and bliss”

Those are the words of The Goddess as given to us within Wiccan lore

KEYWORDS:- “Purification and balance”

The Scourge is the primary representation and magickal tool dedicated to the Goddess as used within Wiccan circles, rituals and ceremonies.

It is held by the High Priestess in the ritual of ‘Drawing down the Moon’, and is also used within Initiation rituals and rituals of cleansing and purification.

The Scourges I make have a handle of Ash wood which is beautifully carved all over its length with the powerful symbols of Witchcraft, and the thongs are of cord in the elemental colours which are knotted along their lengths to express the symbology of Witchcraft.

Each Scourge handle is approximately 9 inches in length with thongs of approximately 13 inches length.

Each Scourge is then a powerful manifestation of Wiccan symbology as well as being a practical, ritual item. Fully hand made, carved and finished with sealant and wax.
